Hi all,

Yesterday as I was engaging the pedals after I slowed down due to traffic. I heard a grinding noise from the motor then the bike cut out. Now the bike doesn't work, but lights come on. I noticed a very short charge time on my last two charges.

Any idea what is wrong and how I can get the bike working again?

I rely on it and need it working again asap. Thanks in advance.

Grinding noise from the motor ?
Was it more of elctrical cracking noise rather then grinding ?
One supsects it is a phase issue and most likely a controller fault.

It was kind of similar to whirling type sound, as though the motor was trying to engage - what do you think Nealh?

The only likely issue inside the hub are failed nylon gears to the clutch mechanism, if so it will need opening to inspect.
It is hard to tell from a description as grinding and whirring are very different.

I've just opened the controller and found the problem is due to the phase wires fusing. I need to find a way to keep them separate. Any ideas?
