Hi
Does anybody know where I can get a handbook for L’avenir power assisted bike. I bought it second hand yesterday but can’t get it to go. The battery is fully charged but it is not connecting to the motor.

Yes the display does light up and bleeps and flashes when you pedal
Sorry I’m away for the weekend now so can’t post any pics. Will do when I get back

Likely the issue could be related to the PAS sensor so we will have to wait until you post pics to see if there might be an issue.

This guy is selling one on Ebay and has another one. you could try contacting him. Ebay messaging doesn't like you exchanging contact details, so you have to come up with some clever ways of encoding them.

I don't think a handbook is going to help you as there are no controls and nothing to do other switch it on, so there's probably an electrical problem somewhere. Someone will have to remove the plastic covers and check the connectors, then whether the pedal sensor is working, then other things.

Where are you located?

We are in Stoke on Trent. The bikes advertised on e bay are the ones we have bought but from another site and he cannot help us. He said that 1 minute it was working then it stopped so we knew there was a problem but thought it was something simple like a fuse .

I see the bike has hub gears so is it a front hub drive ?
If so disconnect the motor wire and reconnect it, make sure that it is aligned correctly and pushed in as a far as it can go. The connector should have a raised arrow marking alignment on both parts and a raised stop line where the connector should be pushed to. Whilst at it have a look at the motor wire at the point where it enters the hub axle check the wire is not split/broken or twisted.
Other wise the likely culprit could well be the PAS sensor connection, the PAS sensor is located by the pedal crank axles and is often on the RHS between the bottom bracket shell and the chainrings.
