Like buses these deals! Ok, so now we can offer the Kudos Eiger (NuVinci) at £1265 (was £1495) and the Eiger Derailleur at only £799 (was £1295). The spec on both bikes are very very high especially married to a TCM crank motor and hydraulic brakes. Both bikes are available for demo at our shop here in Hampton Wick, Surrey. The price is for a brand new one and whilst stocks last!

Tom are you trying to bankrupt Hattie.
First the Uno now this.
Another excelent deal from you.
They should go very quickly.
When can we expect a torque sensing crank motor kit deal?

Hi Selrahc1992,

We've looked at supplying kits but for not much more money you can buy a complete bike, i.e. Eiger £799, Vita Uno for £599 a decent kits seems to be around £500 ish including a battery. Just seems to make sense when, you get the reassurance the bike is built as an ebike and not hope the kit is going to work on whatever bike you're going to be adding it to.

thanks, yes, but that's a 250whubmotor, not a crank drive

I never thought that anyone would want to buy the TCM crank motor on its own,it does need extensive mods to the bottom bracket to accomodate the motor.
KudosDave
And a tough hub drive because the ruddy thing routinely busts derailleurs.

Rob....it's not that it has a lot of power,it's that it is difficult to unload that power when you want to change gear. As others have commented the power from an electric motor is consistent whatever the position of the crank, with a non assisted bike the riders power input is reduced at certain points on the rotate, that gives the dérailleur a chance to change.
It doesn't so much bust dérailleurs because of power,it damages dérailleurs because of graunchy gear changes, which needs a technique to avoid, the consistent motor power makes the technique more difficult to achieve.
Let's be honest the same problem exists on a normal bike, the rider backs off during the downshifts.

I am aware the problem is not caused by power, it is caused by poor design of the motor and controller.

There is a technique for smooth changes on a Bosch bike, but if you don't bother, all you get is clonky changes, not a damaged derailleur.

Your offer of £100 is good for a crank drive motor, provided the buyer understands its limitations.

there are several versions of the TCM motor. The OEM version has a bigger bottom bracket and two anti-torque pins on the chain side, not suitable for use as a kit. These motors can be supplied with thicker wires for more current like in the woosh Krieger.
The kit version has standard size bottom bracket with 8-Fun's style of mounting kit and gearbox, nearly but not quite direct replacement for the 8-Fun BBS01 because the controller is outside the motor case.
I think the spare motors that kudosdave was talking about is the OEM version. You can't use those in normal donor bikes.

Kit one is what I'm going to buy - 344€ from a guy in Marseille which makes it about 200€ cheaper than the bafang kit here. The controller is zip tied behind the seat down tube which is fine with me.
