Finding my (electric) wheels

Hi, I've been reading lots of Pedelec posts recently so I thought best to join and ask questions as I'm quite new to electric bikes, and whilst moderately competent with a spanner, some things are stumping me.

My dad gave me an old Kudos Eiger he had in the shed, it's from circa 2013, and seems to be relatively well specced for it's age. But the mid drive motor was seized, water ingress . Powering up the electrics showed the bike had done 1100 miles before being laid up. I've since done some other research and worked out the mid drive was a first generation Bewo/TCM setup ( I think the serial was BWAS-A) and I've resigned myself to the fact it's knackered and the whole unit needs replacement. So I just had a couple of questions after getting the old unit out and disconnected.

1. The bottom bracket is actually 61mm not 68, I'll see if I can post some pictures of the old motor cartridge measurements Has anyone come across this before?
2. Obviously before spending £350 on a replacement bafang unit I wanted to check if it's possible to make a 68 fit with some spacers, or whether I just have obsolete tech and I should just fit a powered front hub.

That's it so far, any thoughts and help greatly appreciated, I've ordered a regular cheapie 68mm cartridge just to see how it sizes up before forking out more money. Pics of motor to follow if helpful.

Obviously from the last pic it looks like the old motor was a 68mm with a locking ring but I wondered if newer ones don't include the lock ring distance in the BB measurement of the cartridge?

Personally, I'd buy the Bafang kit plus spacers and if it didn't work, I'd buy a cheap second hand bike to convert instead. 6.67mm or a smidge more in spacers to make it fit, doesn't seem to me like a lot.

I'm guessing the bafang is still preferred quality over the tongsheng tsdz2? There's only about £60 price difference £265 Vs £330, I'm guessing forum members use both with equal satisfaction?

Really depends on how you prefer the power delivery on a mid drive cadence or TS.
