Help! KT-V12L PAS sensors keep dying, any good alternatives?

I've just had my third KT-V12L sensor die on me in the space of about 4 months. I have a spare KT-V6 that I've gone back to every time that works perfectly, but the responsiveness on the 6 magnet PAS is comparatively poor. The KT-V12Ls just seem to be garbage.

Does anyone know of a 10+ magnet PAS that isn't the KT-V12L? Only ones I can find are the 'disc' type ones that don't seem like they would fit in the place of a KT-V12L.

Thanks

A two piece magnet disc and sensor is the best one to get, I opt for a bz10c that fits behind the chain ring. Otherwise use use a 8 pole model and fit it to the LHS.

Behind the chain ring one simply finds a way to a fix the disc to the chain ring so epoxy glue or amechanical fixing, the sensor will clamp be retained in place between the BB and the BB shell.

I always make up a cover for them to prevent water/mud thats thrown up from the front wheel clogging them up (KT v12L). This seems to make them reliable and I have some working for years without problems.

I always use the cheap 8 magnet ones. You know there's a setting for sensitivity in the LCD with parameter C1?

Thanks all.

It's definitely not a configuration issue, the faulty PAS sensors always develop continuity between two wires that don't have continuity on working sensors. It's not to do with water ingress either as this one hasn't been ridden in the rain yet.

I can't figure out a way that I'd fit one behind a chain ring so I think that's a no go. I've decided to get the seller to replace the KT-V12L under warranty and just hope this one doesn't die.

Cheers
