Hi,
I bought a new kt lcd3 to which I wanted to upload OSF for TSDZ2. I've done it before without a problem, but in this new display I get a connection error in STVP as below (Cannot communicate with the device ). Can anyone suggest what could be wrong? I've checked the pinout and connections multiple times and they're correct. I suspect that there is something wrong with these new displays because when I connected the kt lcd3 bought a year ago, STVP connected to it without any problems. Anyone can suggest something? Thank you very much
P.S. I also have a second new one lcd3 and I get the same error so I assume it's not a damaged display

Could something you've installed on your computer during the past year, be interfering with the connection? Some software firewalls can block USB connections, or an OS update could be causing problems. Perhaps uninstall everything and try again, or use a different computer?

Thanks @guerney. I tried with a different computer but got the same error.
Regarding to:
"ATTENTION! Newer KT-LCD3 displays may not be compatible with this firmware. "
I could't connect with STVP. As I understand it, this warning applies to the situation when the upload was successful.

You might be right.

Are you using Windows 10? The reason why I ask, is because there has been one case on this forum where we couldn't get one laptop with Windows 10 working to update firmware, but the same process worked using an older Windows 10 (which hadn't been updated for awhile) on another older laptop. If you are able to, I'd try installing a different hard drive (there are oodles of second hand hard drives out there, webuy.com has many at low prices) and installing Windows 10 (I'd use an old Windows 10 .iso) from scratch, not applying any updates to Windows 10, then try again... or install Windows 7 (if your computer is compatible and all drivers are available), which you can still buy secondhand licenses for on ebay, and for which images can still be downloaded. Or there are many cheap old laptops with Windows 7 installed on ebay and Gumtree etc.

Or you could perhaps try installing Windows 10 on a thumb drive?

@havranek4 - if you were going the route of buying a cheap old Windows 7 device to keep isolated from the internet (and updates), the sole purpose of which would be to update firmware, a Windows 7 PC would be preferable to a laptop, because some laptop manufacturers implement USB oddly, which can lead to problems, my Sony VAIO P laptop being a prime example. Avoid AMD - there have been reports of JAVA not installing properly on computers using certain AMD CPUs (JAVA installation script error).

If you order a second hand PC online (they start at £45, but do check Windows 7 drivers are available, before purchase), you could return it within 14 days and get refunded, after doing the deed:

I'd remove the old hard drive, to put back in before returning it, and install Windows 7 on another hard drive, update your firmware and keep that hard drive handy in case you need it again, or simply keep the old PC.

Others here with TSDZ2s can help you check your connecting lead.

I'm assuming your software setup is correct, because you've done it successfully before. I think it very likely that some Windows 10 update which has been applied since you updated firmware last, is causing the error.

This rather long thread might or might not be of use:

I tried to connect to old lcd3 just after I got commucation error in new lcd3 so WIN was exactly the same in both cases.

If you haven't done so already, check your software. Even if you can't see any errors, uninstall, then install as you did last year. And if that doesn't work: I don't know how determined you are to attempt getting it working, but if you were... If I were in your shoes, I'd either:

1. Back up everything and wipe my hard drive, install Windows 10 using an old Windows 10 .iso (after making sure to record the licensing information first), DON'T CONNECT TO THE INTERNET, DO NOT UPDATE WiNDOWS 10, reinstall everything to attempt flashing again. This route could be problematic - Windows licensing could be a pain.

or:

2. Install a fresh Windows 10 using an old .iso on a different hard drive (or USB thumb drive) but on the same computer, attempt flashing. Again, licensing might throw a spanner in the works. Avoid updates.

or:

3. Install Windows 7 (if all drivers for your computer are available) on your computer but on a different hard drive. Avoid updates, then attempt flashing.

Or:

4. Buy a second hand PC using an Intel CPU, for which all Windows 7 drivers are available for download, install Windows 7, buy a second hand Windows 7 license (about a tenner on ebay), and attempt flashing firmware. Windows 7 remains fully functional for a time after installation, without being properly licensed and activated.

I'd try option 3. first. If you're not used to swapping out hard drives, go with option 1. or 4. or try installing Windows 10 on a USB thumb drive as mentioned on option 2. Personally, I avoid Windows 10 like the plague it is. 11? Hell no.

And you might still find at the end, that the firmware is incompatible with your new LCD3s.
