My hybrid currently has a Yose Power 250w. rear motor paired with a Yose Power (Lishui) 18A controller and C500 display. I'm contemplating upgrading to a KT TS06S "torque simulation" 15A controller from Top Bike Kits, along with the necessary cables and display.
I've been reading the manuals for the displays and as far as I can tell the LCD-3 has a "real time" wattage indicator (which I don't really think I need) and indications for motor and ambient temperatures, which are not applicable without any temperature sensors.
The LCD-3 is larger, so easier to read, with a separate, wired keypad. However, it is designed to clamp centrally both sides of the handlebar stem. That position is already occupied on my bike by an accessory bar that supports a throttle on the right hand side and a Garmin mount for a GPS computer on the stem:-
There is very little spare space, but I could use a longer tube on the accessory bar and mount the LCD-3 display on the left with the keypad on the handlebars. I'm not sure if the display would be fully visible in that position though.
I'm leaning towards using the smaller LCD-5 and mounting it where the C500 display is in the photo, but are there any other advantages of the LCD-3 over the LCD-5 that I've missed?
