Being a Maplin product fanatic I just can't help trawling their site for goodies.

How about the following products for keep you warm this winter ;)

Heated Insoles > Maplin

Self-Heating Electric Waistcoat > Maplin

Self-Heating Electric Gloves > Maplin
.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

last year i bought an electric waistcoat price £14.99 and also a wind up torch price £9.99 from maplins, neither worked so i took them back, as the checkout person was dealing with me he handed the two items to another assistant and asked him if he knew where they go, i watched the young man and he went with the torch and put it back on the shelf for re sale, this torch was still sealed in its tough plastic wrapping other then the back where you could wind it up to "try it".. i said to the man at checkout serving me.."but they dont work".. his reply without even thinking about it was, "they are still sealed". ............i aslo mystery shop maplins and they are terrible, im supposed to wander around looking and expect to be asked withing 5 minutes by an assistant if i require some assistance, i could wander round there from opeing to shutting and the only thing i would be told was its nearly time to close will you hurry up....lol...i have bought the odd things from there like cd's but i ALWAYS ALWAYS make sure i keep the receipt...

I only do Maplins via the Internet.

Like all traders they have products that fail. I had a solar torch (from them) go faulty - went into flash mode and would not stop. Had us in fits of laughter on the campsite. In the end had to unscrew the back and take the batteries out.

.... wind up torch price £9.99 from maplins ....

Wow, you were taken for a ride

Last year we got 2 for £5.98 from Do-It-All and 2 for £9.98 (wind up cycle lights) from No Frills.

All still working :D

"Wow, you were taken for a ride "........ now you can see why im not over pleased with them:mad: ..although i do internet buy its a case of generally only items which cant go faulty as the procedure of returning via internet is such a messing about i soon wish i had not tried to do it the easy way, like these women who go shopping say in meadowhall for christmas shopping...all well and good but its a long way for returns... but then again i bought my Quando over the internet and had no problems...have even less now i rashly sold it..:(

Hi Everyone

I have these and purchased them 2 years ago. Yes a bit pricey and seem to have gone up £50 since I bought mine
They work real well and have a seperate charging unit with slim Lithium batteries in the gloves and as I suffer a little from Raynauds are an absolute blessing for me!! :)

New Zanier Heated Gloves - Ladies - AquaStuff.net - Your outdoor gear specialist based in the UK.

I wouldn't be without mine!!!
Regards
I thought at first you said they had gone up to £50 and then I saw the price.
An alternative for anyone with spare battery capacity may be the Oxford heated grips for motorbikes (about £40), I found these to be very effective but I don't get cold enough on a pushbike to justify them.

LOL!! Well I said they were a bit pricey :D
I guess with my hands feeling the cold so badly I really needed something that was good. I had a pair off ebay before, the one's you put 2 huge batteries in? They were £35.00 and absolute rubbish!
Those hand grips sound good and I have seen them on motor bikes and never thought of them on a push bike? Correction, Leccy bike :) Could be a plan?

I am trawling the net for waterproofs as mine are a little old and tired now.
I am thinking of going mid price? Has anyone got any suggestions for good one's that are not too pricey?
I am not keen on the high Viz one's but don't mind a little high Viz bits on them. I currently have reflective strips but no good in the day I guess? :D

Cheers
