Kalkhoff Incorrect Max Speed Reading

My wife's recently-acquired 2015 Kalkhoff Impulse Ergo (yes, I know!) works fine but there is one oddity.

She can complete a ride, see >30MPH going downhill, but when she gets back the Max Speed logged will be something like 16MPH. Even when the average is 13MPH over 10 miles.

I've checked the magnet/sensor clearance and alignment. Display is the larger Impulse one; all other trip data seem accurate.

Any ideas on why the Max Speed is wrong?

Many thanks in advance.

Is the wheel size correctly set ?

Nealh, thanks for the reply.

Wheel size is set to 2050 (for 26 x 1.75) but that cannot affect this problem: if the speedo reads 30MPH then says Max is 16MPH, something else is wrong.

Have you been through the manual? maybe there's a "hold" function or the meter has to be reset before it'll show the next value.

Maybe it has a dongle fitted.

No dongle unless inside the motor (and previous (first) owner denies any fitted). Average and displayed speeds look normal. I reset the trip data each ride so everything zeroed.

As Poirot would say " a mystery, n'est pas?"
