I own this bike for 6 months now and for the past few days I experience the motor being on and the pedal assist being on when I don't pedal. I noticed that the chain is actually moving from time to time when I don't pedal and it can last few minutes. Anyone would have a clue of what is the issue triggering this?

More than likely caused by your freewheel or free hub body being stiff. The gears on your rear wheel should not cause the pedals to move unless there is a lubrication issue with the free wheel or free hub body. If your bike is only 6 months old, the shop you purchased it from should be able to fix you up.
Hope this helps, Cheers

I'll assume you have a freewheel at the crank just like a Bosch. All Nexus and Alfine hubs are like that, because the freewheel on the crank offers less resistance than the one on the hub that's where it freewheels.
If it was a normal bike it would freewheel at the back with your feet on the pedals, take your feet off the pedals and it'll turn the cranks rather than freewheel.

Hi Chacha, I was battling with 50 cycles ( Mark I believe ) for a "century", sending bike to their workshop for three times with the most terrible experiences, one of them being- they have forgotten my bike at the back of other bikes for nearly a month!!! (I presume) they did not believe in me saying that I had exactly your experienced problem i.e. Without me pedalling motor was pulling me along. I had made the video while riding and sent it to them, only then they reluctantly had changed my motor ( which I had to wait for another month...) communications were very disappointing , quite few times they made me feel small, and since the last time I spoke with them in May 2014 I have just given up on them. For me- kalkhoff bikes are good but service what I have received was appalling ( uniquely to me ,I suppose , because everyone is raving about their "service" )
So then, make a video if you can ( be careful when you are doing it while riding) and show them rather by telling them, usually they will tell you" my diagnostic equipment does not show me any fault" and send you bike back. All the best Chacha.

Thanks all for replying to my post.

Mr MSJ - that's good to know that someone had the same issue. I'm contact 50 cycles. Let's see how they will deal with that. Thanks a lot again
