Hey guys.

So I just ordered my first Ebike. The Oxygen Emate MTB 13A. Of course, I've no idea what most of that means, only that after research, it came out as only a couple of hundred more than the Eco Expedition etc would have cost me including getting someone to build it etc..

I'm totally excited. Like an impatient kid 4 days before Christmas knowing his parents bought him that Sega Master System, or when Bruce Jenner held his own breasts!

Anyhoo, looking forward to joining the E-bike community. It's as rare as employment up here in Dundee however so I'm planning on doing a consumer review of my bike. No reviews i could find really answered any questions and there's just not enough footage about a lot of the Ebikes apart from all the really expensive ones in the U.S.

Thanks for having me:)

welcome, I have the oxygen 13A kit on a racer, I love it, I suspect you will too, it provides just the right amount of support for me - gently and then much more powerfully on hills/very steep hills, just enough to go along at around 24 mph with some own effort on the level. the thing is that it still allows me to get decent exercise while making a daily round trip of 27 miles feel like a visit to the shop. it also feels indestructible and maintenance free (now that I've tightened and trued the wheel and strengthened the battery attachment with some rivnuts - but I installed mine, yours should be fine ito this). Mostly after a few months of commuting this way one feels so much healthier and leaner.

Thanks Selrahc. It's my ""fun" bike. I use a Specialized Hybrid for commuting and going to the gym etc but I've never had a real MTB before so looking forward to it. Unfortunately, its supposed to be raining for the next 5 days up here in Scotland and I'm not taking it out in that. lol Looks like I'll be running over the kids around the house for the next week!:)

There's 19 speed/power combinations: Three power settings, something like eco, normal and power, and 7 speed settings 0 to 6. You have to have both on maximum to get the maximum. Several people have come on here saying that they were disappointed with the speed until the settings were explained.

im not too bothered about top speed on the bikes at this point. I'm just looking for a little help because i live in a pretty hilly town but I'll look up the power combinations as you suggested. Lots to learn.
. I was actually about to order the RadRover in from the states because as impractical as the fatbikes are, they look totally amazing fun. I think thats my next bike to be honest.

Also just read this.....

So hopefully lighter more compact bikes will be coming soon?
