made the mistake of trying an electric bicycle through Halfords for a £1 and was hooked. So looking for a bicycle I could get through the cycle to work scheme and found the faro looks good comes with a rack and mudguards my commutes on 5 miles or so but after a 12-hour shift and uphill on the way back want a bit of assistance:) so now just have to wait for cyclesolutions to do whatever they do

8 weeks seems a long time. If you'd ordered it from Woosh, I think you'd have got it the next day. Is it 7 1/2 weeks for paperwork approval? I hope you get it soon anyway.

Hopefully, you'll give us a full review after a week, then another one after a couple of months. Strangely, hardly anybody does that. All we seem to get is that elated review immediately after the first ride, when everything is fantastic, like, "Wow! I just got my new Cheetah electric bike. it's fantastic, it flies up hills and I really like the cross-bar"

What was the £1 for ?
I suspect they physically take your credit card as security and put £1 on it to make sure it works.

we have plenty of stock of the Faro, it's just the paperwork. If the customer has already got their £1,000 voucher, it can be dispatched right away.

The Faro is in every bit a worthy successor to the Woosh Karoo. It has the same power, but is better equipped with suspension seatpost, mudguard, lights, bell and rack.
The Faro is quieter and nearly 3 kgs lighter. It has Maxxis Detonator skinny tyres 700 x 23 with very low rolling resistance, making it a total pleasure to ride on low assist. The Aikema 13.0 motor is extremely quiet, you would easily miss its murmuring.
The bike is so good that I made a kit from it for those who want to convert a very lightweight bike.

The in-frame battery is 36V * 8AH, good for 25 miles. Perfect for commuting if you work within 12 mile radius. For more distance commuting, you can have 36V * 17AH external battery instead, doubling the range.

For those who are interested in technical aspect of e-bikes, the Faro is representative of the current thinking:
- lightweight, high torque motor (Aikema 13.0 motor weighing under 2kgs)
- high energy density battery (3500mAH Samsung cells)
- internal cable routing (protect electronics against rainwater and accidental damage)
- hydraulic brakes
- low air resistance profile
- lightweight parts like saddle and pedals etc..

Here you can see how clean, I'd say minimalistic, the lines are compared to thousands of bikes on the market:

Unlike bikes with torque sensor, you can ghost pedal the Faro is you are tired.
It's really a worthy successor of the previous Karoo.

done 400 miles on it now love it when I can get on it my 17-year-old son tried it and loves it had loads of punctures but only on the rear tire which is odd might be my riding style.
its comfortable not sure the suspension seat does anything useful.
the supplied lights were adequate although the rear one fell off when I hit a bump the bungee straps stretched cost me u lock which was annoying but those are minor things.
its a decent hill climber I'm 86kilos 13 1/2 stone plus a full backpack and it will go up steep hills at 10 mph. It copes fine with gravel and grass just not very bumpy stuff.
