Just bought my first E bike

Hi all, I’m new to the e bike scene but I’ve just bought a second hand (like new really) Fiido D21. Been looking for a while and almost gave up but this one popped up and I got it. Have now ridden it and it’s great.
one question I have is that the brake levers are round the opposite way to my regular bikes, the rear is on the right and front on the left. Do you know if this is the way they are supplied or can it be swapped over fairly easily? I don’t want to get used to this configuration only to get back on my other bikes and go over the handle bars! . Appreciate your help.

You can swap them around. You currently have the continental set up.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is it fairly easy to do? I’ve not had a proper look at it yet. I’m guessing it’s just a matter of releasing the cable nipple in the lever and swapping them over?

yes, if they are cables they are easy, hydraulic can get a bit more messy.

For cable ones, just pop the nipples out of the levers and swap them over. You might need to slacken the cables a bit first.

The technique I use is to pull the brake on hard. With the other hand grab the cable near the lever and put as much tension on it as you can as if you're trying to pull the cable out. When you're holding max tension, let go of the lever and the cable should jump out enough to lift it through the slot.

AFAIK Fiido's bikes made specifically for the UK market have the brakes the right way around (eg my own D11). If your brakes are reversed, it's likely an EU model imported - eg: sold by Banggood who for a long while were shipping EU stock from Poland into the UK. But yes, nothing to stop you just swapping the brakes around.
