Recently went for a nice ride along the High Peak and tissington trails with my wife on her Juicy Folder. Riding from the north down towards Tissington I was able to freewheel most of the way as it is mainly downhill. My wife poor devil had to pedal the whole way. The bike just would not roll freely. I have checked that the brakes are not catching but they seem ok. So is this a natural thing on a small wheeled folder. She has not done a lot of miles yet so maybe it will free up a bit more. Any ideas?

The solution should be simple: Lift each wheel in turn off the ground and spin it by hand. Each should spin several revolutions, then you will know which wheel is causing the drag. If booth spin freely, you haveno problems, so think about some better rolling tyres. If the non-motor wheel has drag, then it's a problem with the brake or wheel bearings. Unclip the brake cable and try again, then you'll know which. If it's the motor wheel, it'll be the brake or the motor. Disconnect the brake and you'll know which. If it's the motor, try spinning in each direction (with the brake cable unclipped). If it's the same in each direction, then the clutch is jammed. If so, turn the bike upside down and whack the wheel in the forward direction with a lump-hammer. Spin the wheel again to see if it freed. If not, repeat a few times, and if that doesn't work, it's back to Juicy to figure out what's wrong.

Should freewheel easily Gray. If you don't fancy doing as Dave suggests pop into the workshop and we'll check it over.
