Decided to do some more research into smart phones, had a really good look at the iPhone then I got a Samsung Galaxy S11 in my hand and WOW....it feels wonderful......I am lusting after it big time.
The guy I spoke to says he has an iPhone but if he was to change it would be to the SGS11 as its the better phone.....I dont really know about that, I am just going on looks and touch...its so much lighter and slimmer than the iPhone and I seriously want one.
Just got to make sure my car doesnt need any MOT surgery.....dont think so....then I will be looking into the best deals.....so, can anyone give me advice on the latest best value offers ? Bearing in mind that I will be having to pay the monthly charge even when I am back in Spain and not using it much, though I will get it unlocked over there and put my spanish sim card in it.

Mind you, I am still in love with my iPod touch and I still want a Mac and/or iPad2......think I had better buckle down and earn some more money :D

Not sure about advice on latest best value offers but I do know that you will get way more bang for buck on Android than iPhone. I've got a friend that was first on the iPhone bandwagon (and back then it was truly awesome) but now he's hankering after Android. I think the pathetic battery life of an iPhone has finally got to him.

Google has just bought the mobile arm of Motorola for mega bucks. The days of Apple dominating the top end of the mobile market are definitely numbered.

I am sure you made the right decision Funky, just don't do what I did with my Samsung Galaxy SII yesterday.
Whilst riding my trike down hill at about 30 mph, it fell out of my pocket. It was missed by 4 cars, but the 5th one got it before I did, I like to think it was accidental:(
Anyhow by the time I got to it the leather cover had come of and the screen was smashed:eek: Ironically it is still working, but unusable, so I am hoping to pick up a new screen tomorrow from here Mobilephone LCDs SAMSUNG i9100 Galaxy S2 Lcd with Front Lens Digitizer, that will teach me to be more careful

OMG .....how on earth are you managing without your phone ??
Bet you feel totally lost......
I was certainly impressed with the SGS11 and the camera is supposed to be awesome....very clear
and detailed pictures apparently and lots of apps so that should keep me occupied :D
I was at a friends house tonight who has an iPhone and it felt like a brick after the samsung.....but he had an app on it for finding the nearest pub selling Stella Artois with a map showing them etc.....thought you might find that useful if the same app is on android :D
Though I imagine if it is you will already have it.....
Hope you get your phone up and running again really quick......

Hi Funky,

I got the replacement screen on Wednesday and fitted it that evening, so all is well again in my little world. It is quite ridiculous how I have become so reliant on gadgets and technology which didn't exist a few years ago and lived quite happily without.
On the positive side, I would probably never made contact or built relationships with some of the great people like those on this site, yourself included Lynda;)

However I think the time has come to take a reality check and resisit the constant pressure to get the next best gadget and just be content with things the way they are..........once I have got an Apple Mac that is:rolleyes:

Hi,

So glad that all is well in your cyber world again :)

Yes, there are some great people on this site, really helpful, and ditto...you too :D

My opinion is you should just give into temptation and go straight out and treat yourself to your
Apple mac.....go on...you know you want to :D

Please Lynda, try to restrain yourself, do you have to tell everyone:rolleyes:

Oh, and be careful, always use protection, mine got badly damaged last week and remember how upset I was:(

One more thing, whatever you do don't let that new rabbit of yours anywhere near it, they are really not compatible:eek:

Oh, lordy lordy. I'm struggling to join the 19th century ... What's an Android? Come to that, what's an iPhone? Are their children called Apps?? What can they do my Nokia 1208 doesn't do? I did lash out £15 on Ebay for something called an iPaq but it just sits there and plays Solitaire ...
Am I in the wrong time-zone? I don't even know how to take the pulse/blood-pressure/temperature of my bike battery. Why do I leave this forum feeling like a dim-wit? Nurse - medication, please!
