Out and about today, I came across two cyclists stopped on the path, one of whom had an electric bike.
As I rarely see other electric bikes on my journeys, I stopped for a closer look and a chat.

The chap was riding a Specialized Sirrus Sport with a kit from Electric Bike Conversions.

See where this is going :D

It was none other than SpezElec, who recently gathered plenty of advice from forum members, before plumping for his final build.
I must say, his bike looks fabulous in the flesh, and he has done a marvelous job in making the installation look super neat.

It was a pleasure to meet you SpezElec, and I'm glad the kit fitted perfectly, after the slight scare of the tapered fork discussion.

I also saw another member Richard_M on a visit to Tescos a couple of weeks ago while doing the weekly shop.

He rode past me and was parking up and I noticed his twin battery arrangement so I went over and had a chat.

I believe he lives on a converted narrowboat and is into ham radio and he followed a similar career path like me via GEC.

His home built bike had handlebar mounted twin ammeters to monitor battery condition, it was good to talk to him if only briefly
