Is your Sprint motor noisey

One of our Sprint motors makes much more noise than the other, it at least let's people walking in the road that something is coming behind them !

Seriously it's a little annoying but maybe it is characteristic of this bike? hard to tell as the other is relatively quiet. There seems to be no problem with the motor's performance.

They do seem to vary quite a lot Jeanette, the noise coming from the orbital gears in the hub, rather than the motor itself. It never seems to do any harm though, just irritating to those who have two for comparison.

These variations also happen on some other makes of hub motors.

This is excellent to know, as when and if I get around to buying an another e-bike (as I won't be able to test it) I'll make sure ask the retailer to send the quieter one.

How old is the motor? I would suggest contacting our wheel expert Phil Spencer 01384 253976 who will advise how to regrease the motor, or he can arrange for your motor to be collected and refurbished.
