Been looking at getting a Bosch performance cx powered bike, I've found a second hand one... But it has done 4500 road miles in 18 months, the crank bearings seem fine for play.

So how long do you think these motors last? Is 4500 miles getting to the end of its life?

Thanks Rob

Don't think 2yr factory warranty is transferrable. If bearings do need servicing motor can be sent away to bosch service center.

There are websites selling new motors for about £1000.

I have driven 13.500 km on my 18 months old Haibike Cross RX 2016 with a CX motor.
Motor is still fine.

Still fit for fight. How much the battery has lost, I really can`t tell you, not much. I have had 130 FULL charges on it....

I've got a bosch speed spedelec with over 14000 miles on it now in three years and been really reliable only failed once a few months ago when i lost all drive because both pawls on the drive gear stuck down with the grease inside had gone all hard.
Quick strip down and regrease been fine again since that.
On me second battery now though, had the original recelled through BGA reworking.

£280 plus two train fares adding £32.
The 10s 4p 10.4ah old cells were recelled with 3450mah GA's giving 13.8ah.
I know this as I went with him to see Jimmy.

Absolutely correct as Nealh ses ,range is much better as is power delivery bike is much more responsive now and even in the highest setting for long periods battery barely gets warm. The battery's are capable of around 40amp discharge and i doubt the bosch draws more than 18amps on max so they get an easy life really.

hi solerbake I assume your bosch pedelec is generation one ? and owners can get them recelled as you have done.
but if I am correct gen 2 batteries 2014 onwards (I have 2016 400w) cannot be recelled and are at least £600 upwards.

jimmy can do gen 2 batts as the bms cant loose power when being recelled a company in Germany can also do this about 400 euro.

he also told me could use silver to connect the batts but will cost alot more for a 7% gain
