Hi everyone,
I’m excited to join this community and introduce myself! I’ve always been passionate about sustainability, and lately, I’ve been diving into the world of electric bikes as part of my eco-friendly lifestyle. I love the idea of reducing my carbon footprint while also enjoying the convenience and health benefits that come with e-bikes.
Beyond transportation, I’m also very interested in innovative and alternative housing solutions, such as shipping container homes and other affordable, sustainable living options. I believe that combining green mobility with eco-conscious housing can create a more sustainable future.
I’m here to learn from all of you about e-bikes—what models work best, maintenance tips, and any advice for maximizing their efficiency. I’d also love to connect with anyone who shares my interest in sustainability and alternative living solutions.
Looking forward to some great conversations!

In that case avoid most of "western" ready made e-bikes equipped with proprietary technology.

Shipping containers are great to build a shed, but to small for home IMO. Main problem is to have land and permission to build, not materials.

Welcome

PS Do you have a composterium? ;)

Hi and welcome, -

Sounds like your more suited to a conversion of a comfortable cycle with a basic bolt on kit made from generic modules. The sleeker design of the built in off the shelf bikes also comes with proprietary tech as said above, but also the need to deal with a single source for repairs and spares that could use that advantage to price a repair high enough to make a 'new' bike attractive..

A temporary structure with an expected 5-10yr life, sure use shipping containers.. Living accommodation for warm moist humans however requires something that wont rust away in a decade.

composterium
??? a worm bin is pretty sweet tho.
