Hi fellow e-devotees.
My Bafang 500 motor either won't run showing 0% PAS or ranging % but then cutting out. My manual accelerator works briefly but then also cuts out. Squirting the brakes (sometimes) briefly brings back power, but then again fails. In summary:
Error msg = Info 01
Accelerator = brief kick in, then fail
Brake cutout devices, loose but when moved to various other positions = unhelpful.
Mileage = 400 miles of perfect operation except when I fell off on a 12" gutter falling on to my right shoulder & accelerator side?
As I'm riding as part of an RV trip, I'm becoming frustrated as a trip to a so called, Been selling and servicing e-bikes for 10 years expert cost me £50 for a service but no e-resolution... HELP!

Hi, firstly, welcome to the forum. Secondly, could you elaborate more on which motor you have, mid drive or hub. Model identification will help.

Also, any other info can help forum members identify your problem. Battery type, capacity etc, display model number.

Have you checked out the exact battery voltage right now with a reasonably accurate volt meter? Post value here, and what nominal battery you own, also post here.
It may be at the bottom of the charge and that can show up in a similar manner as you mention, because it is going up and down as you draw power, from a discharged battery....in and out of the level the BMS wants to prevent you entering....
Its amazing just how often that its a battery or charging problem....
You will need a volt meter, and some care....
If that is fully OK, then we can look further for the real reason, OK?

It could simply be the magnets dirty or the hall sensor out of alignment. If not, it could be the pickup sensor on the wheel out of alignment with the sensor. Best wishes

We need to know if it is hub or mid drive and the controller make it is a hub.

Even dirty magnets, unless the dirt is iron or steel filings possibly, still work. You can test your theory easily with a thick piece of cardboard, representing the dirt!
If there are iron or steel filings being the dirt, the problem is mechanical, a bearing or some sort of misalignment causing heavy wear. This will usually be heard very clearly as bits are cut/rubbed off!
