I was tempted to post this in the 'Anyone had an interesting ride recently' thread, but as I wasn't on my bike at the time, I thought a new thread here was more appropriate. Feel free to post any images you have of unusual events/buildings/people.
A mini-tornado got started in the field behind our house yesterday, picking up freshly cut hay.

Phone camera on zoom - not best quality really.
I was amazed how high the clumps got lifted, and then subsequently started dropping from the sky all over the village.

I saw one of these many years ago at a camp site in Paignton. It was a hot still day and I was cooking on a small stove outside the caravan because it was so hot. Suddenly my wife shouted, and a cloud of swirling dust came up the roadway.
It passed me, I did not feel anything at all. Suddenly it sort of collapsed, leaving the air full of dust and rubbish that it had picked up.
I can understand why people used to call them dust devils.
