Some very sad news from a chocolate factory today.

Reports say that a man was crushed by a falling pallet and died from multiple internal injuries. At the time of the incident the man, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, had been temporarily seconded to the white chocolate production line. Whilst moving a palletised load of white chocolate to the despatch area, the consignment fell onto him from his fork lift truck. Witnesses say the man was trapped for several hours before help arrived. He was heard to shout, "The Milky Bars are on me", several times, but people just cheered and then went about their business unaware of the unfolding dragged.

The HSE have been informed and are carrying out an investigation.

A barrel of beer fell on me once, but I was OK as it was light ale.

True story;
I was working in a large warehouse full of bottles of a fizzy drink like Poke, servicing their forktrucks, when I noticed a pallet stacked with bottles of the stuff that everyone was helping themselves from.
I was told (by the manager) to take a couple/few, but not take the pee, like a vanload.
What used to happen was, the forktruck drivers might accidentally spear a pallet full and the burst bottles would contaminate the outside of all the others on the pallet, so that would be written off as damaged goods. This was happening too often, so realistic management decided to accidentally on purpose allow a pallet every so often to be written off. The number of pallets damaged on purpose dramatically dropped as a result, since everybody working there knew there would be some legit ones for them if they kept the other damages down.

A similar thing happened in a brewery where I was working later on that year.

I repaired them. Jeez, you wouldn't believe the dangerous condition some of them got into - and once, when I put a red sticker on one, saying "Dangerously Defective, Do Not Use", all hell broke loose from the owner of the company. Feck's sake, the chains were hanging off, badly worn brakes, knife-thin forks, just waiting to kill someone.
Bastard wouldn't spend the money on it, and thought a service was all it needed. I'll say this for Barlow's though; they stood by my assessment and backed me up on it.
