Doing my usual browsing/dreaming this afternoon, I spotted a rather swanky Haibike at the eye watering end of the price scale:

I noticed that 4 of these have already gone to some moneybags, so the question is:

Would anyone here be willing to pay six grand for an electric bike?

If anyone on this forum actually bought one of these, then I salute you

You lived in a really expensive place! I remember chips at 3 pence (old money) a bag; a fish supper for 1/3d and the first gallon of petrol I can remember buying myself was 4/6d! Mind you, I can buy more gallons of petrol with my weekly income now than I could then!

I go as far back as buying cinema tickets for sixpence, 4 gallons of petrol for a quid for my first car a 250 quid 1963 VW Beetle Reg. 9390 SM.
Not as much fun though as my Suzuki 80 Sport, MZ TS 250, Honda MTX 200 and Husqvarna 500.

Seriously though, even at today's prices £6000 for an electric bike does seem a bit extreme, you could get 5 eZee Torqs for that money.

I wasn't always legit though, motorbike from 14.

My first car was a 1957 Morris Minor. It cost £75 and went from 0 mph to a wheel wobble in a minute and a half. I sold it 3 years later for £60. Could have got about 40 of them for the price of my Rose!

mmmm 4 bought, via eblag, by the same buyer, about 4 months before that model starts arriving in the UK.
