Hello Bosch e bike owners:
Not sure if you have come across this.
If you are a regular user of your bike with a frame mounted battery, I advise you to take some time to check the battery doesn't wobble sideways in the holder where the key lock is. After about 12 months, my battery started to wobble sideways by about 0.5mm each side. I thought nothing of it until a few months later and found that the lock holder had become slightly worn, causing sideways movement thus causing small grooves to be worn into the battery housing. This caused the battery to loudly rattle when going over bumps in the road and the wobble then increased to about 1.5mm each side. To prevent this getting worse I took the lock part off the bike using a Torx T20 bit and put two channels of exterior grade silicone between the part which contacts the battery housing. When I now lock the battery in there, it no longer rattles thus reducing the wear marks in the housing.
It may be the case that Bosch updated their battery mounting systems for 2013. This fix just relates to systems for 2012 and before. It might however still be relevant for the 2013 models.
Hope this comes in handy for you. Photos attached for reference.
