I wonder if Flecc would be kind enough to value my bike ?

It's a Kalkhoff impulse 8.....50cm frame... I bought it new from 50 Cycles mid October 2015.
50 cycles list it at £2000 + Cost me £1750....Since then I've done 2300 miles,
I've just fit 2 new Schwalbe marathon tyres and 2 new tubes with Schrader valves.
.....many thanks.......Mike

Flecc, Could be an opportunity here! Cars, vans, motor bikes, caravans all have trade price guides. We pay over a £1000 pa for our subscription to CAP Black book car price guide. The time is fast approaching when an e-bike price guide is going to be essential to dealers who have customers who would like to trade in there old e-bikes or buy one from someone who no longer needs it.

Of course Mike, which battery does it have, the 14.5 Ah or the 17 Ah? That model was fitted with both at times and their prices were separated by £200.

Everything I do is open source, given free, so my info and formula on e-bike second-hand prices is likewise.

Based on the £2000 original price, the formula works out to a current selling price of £ £1735.

Based on the £1750 you paid, the formula works out to a current selling price of £1490.

Both of those have been distorted upwards by the separately listed replacement price of the 17Ah battery, which is very high at £795.

I haven't added anything for the tyres and tubes since I think the above prices will probably already be difficult to achieve. The bike is worth it of course, but e-bikes are notoriously difficult to shift at high second-hand prices, the market being so small.

I reckon £900 is a fair price for your bike.

I take your point Trex, assuming you mean achievable price, but that 50% loss at only eight months old is extreme for a vehicle. Normally it would take four years for an average car to lose that much.

Of course it's all down to market size, the car market is huge, and the moral is, never sell any new bought vehicle earlier than three years old.

there are not many Kalkhoff with Impulse motors on ebay at the moment but I went by the typical £1000 auction price achieved on ebay auctions recently for bikes costing new £1,8000. Deduct a bit for the high mileage, I came to £900.
