I may never moan about the price of batteries again!

We spend quite a bit of time in villages with no mains electricity supply so thought it would be a good idea to carry a spare battery for a camera - well known, widely advertised medium price range compact - so approached the shop we bought it from. Battery not a stock item but could be ordered - for £50!
Next time I buy a camera guess what the first question will be!
My old Canon 35mm SLR works happily with £5 worth of batteries ...

Check batteries for your camera online Tom. Compatible alternatives are available at a fraction of the makers price. I've used these for several cameras and they are perfectly ok. The alternatives for a £50 one can be well under £10 often.
