I don't want one of these but I'm bound to say I just love the imagination and ingenuity of the people who can turn these kinds of ideas into reality.

Just when I thought that the 1920s and 1930s produced lots of great ideas in art, clothes, building, motorcars, ships, furniture and furnishings, I discovered that this contraption wasn't even an original idea back then. It was pre-dated by at least this one, housed in a German museum:

There's been many attempts at these over the years, one of the ideas that just keeps coming back. Always the same control problems though, not just steerig and balance but the way the human/mechanical load lags or leads during acceleration or braking.

I can imagine the fore and aft pitching could quickly lead to a form of travel sickness.

Can't remember the channel but a fortnight a go on the big big bike show a guy in the US has designed and rides one, I think he also showed off a V8 version he had built.
