Good Morning.

I am waiting on a new ebike which has the x35 ebikemotion system and i'm excited as its getting near to delivery time. Last night whilst charging my battery husqvarna chainsaws i noticed the batteries are also 36v, i have 2 one is 9A/H the other around 7. it started me thinking if anyone has managed to use one to power an ebike? the charger i have is a 1 hour quick wall 240v unit but also a 12v 2A car charger, again i wondered if anyone had used similar to charge whilst away from home? I see the connector is a proprietary one and wondered if anyone had found a supplier or had the pin configurations so i could do some testing.

12v 2a won't charge a 36v battery.

I'd say give it a go

I've been using a StihlAP100 hedgetrimmer battery on an old TGA electrobike for over a year. I can get about 5 fast hilly miles out of it which gets me to work and back twice = very useful!

I see now the charger utilises a step up charger.

would that charger do my ebike batteries too and would i need the balancing/thermo connections too? the ebike plug is not the easiest, XLR would be better!

The charger says it is for lithium so yes should charge a 36v battery, I assume the charger as it has 12v input is a PSU unit and has a step up circuit inside for 36v.
The connector is for your current battery so leave it as is, the new bike will come with a charger to suit it so use that for the bike rather then complicate things.

Im interested in trying to use solar charging for the saws and bike as i have an off grid cabin with 250W panels, i have the mppt controller but the connections are an issue unless i can connect them via a common plug. can i just use the red and black connections and ignore the other 2 in the charger? im thinking of cutting the husky charger wire and adding xt connectors to allow we to use the car charger for both too when im away from the house and cabin. Thanks

You can only use an alternative charger if the other two wires aren't used by the system. Normally, they're comms wires for CANbus or similar.
