This might be useful to someone
On lit roads, a headlamp is make you more noticable to drivers. Offroad, it's to actually light your way... but the Junstar headlight doesn't come with a handlebar bracket - so I made one out of the two brackets supplied with totally useless but cheap rearview mirrors - a wobbly light gets a cyclist noticed more (it's too stable when mounted to the frame), when it's on the handlebar, you can easily angle it down for offroad, light up road signs etc. I used a 3mm thick nylon strap I had lying around for cushioning. The brackets are aluminium, bolts and nuts are brass, but sadly the washers aren't:

Here are utterly useless rear view mirrors, which only show you your shoulder, but the brackets are very sturdy - £3.80 sold by amazon:
