Dear E.bikers - does anyone know how to find a replacement battery for a Claud Butler Glide 2, or does it need all new electrics? I bought a Claud Butler Glide 2 in 2013 and sent the battery back to be replaced when it stopped working, but didn't get it and now would like to find a replacement battery - the bike is in good order, and wondered if there is a hybrid which matches the connections and battery carrier? Or if it has to be all new electrics fitted? Thanks for any suggestions

A picture of the battery connection would help.
Unlikely to need all new electrics, might need a new battery and battery carrier and some ingenuity.

Of course, we don't know why it stopped working in the first place. Who did you send the battery to who didn't return it?

Dear sjpt,

I sent it back to Claud Butler, when it first wouldnt hold a charge, and they said it needed a new battery, this was back in 2013/15, and I didn't do anything about it, because it was such a lot of money at the time to replace. Then when I started to try and get it going again, about three years later, I found that you could get them re-filled, but by then Claud Butler had stopped trading as a company and no longer exist, so my old battery is long gone - and the company who rep their bikes now, TGC I think, are a different entity and Claud Butler don't do electric bikes any more.

Don't know if this post shows the photos I sent as a link - I also posted on the other thread the Pedelecs have, didn't know which was best to post on

thanks for any suggestions, Best Emma

It's a real shame losing the battery like that. Claud Butler hadn't been a real company for many years (since 1957, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claud_Butler), but I didn't know the brand had changed ownership yet again relatively recently.

I see Nealh has followed up for you on the other thread, he'll advise much better than I can. Good luck with it.
