how to activate live ride in cycle streets route planner

.hi all its been a year since ive used cycle streets, I planned a route on my android phone but can only get itinary ab to show, I do not seem to have the live ride icon to activate although I belive gps etc is enabled.

hence I got lost today and found myself on a bit of dual carriageway ,mode 3 pas for 4 miles with cars /lorries wizzing by, not something I wish to repeat.

I did ask this last summer but cannot find my post or thread.
