How should I fit this PAS?

Hi everyone,

My ebike rear hub kit and battery finally arrived. I’m installing it on a BMX 24” cruiser. It’s not going to be an everyday bike or commuter, just an alternative weekend travel option when I catch up with friends.

I’m having a bit of difficulty figuring out this PAS device. I’m not sure which way to install it (A or B), and if this is the correct method for my pedals?

Either way it also doesn’t fit over the crank rod(?), so I assume I will probably go dremel those fins a little shorter?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers
B

It won't fit on that type of bottom bracket. You might be able to use the type that has a separate sensor that you can fix to the frame, then glue some magnets to the back of your chain wheel.

You might be better off using a throttle.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know which direction it should facing, A or B? I might be able to dremel it out and stick it on the outside of the pedal section. That way it still spins. The unit comes with a throttle also, so if all fails I could just use rely on that.

If I opt for throttle only, do I need to fix the PAS somewhere? Can I just disconnect it somehow? My motor has a built in controller, so it all comes out off one thick wire housing from the rear hub.

Cheers

Whenever you fit a PAS, you should always test it to see which of the four permutations of side and direction work by twizzling it. Get the motor working with the throttle first, then connect the PAS and test it.
