Saw this on the web today:

By chance while I was researching the Bosch Generators on the Web I saw my first Electric Bicycle. I don't know who's site it was or what it had to do with the generators, but I was hooked and had to build one. Most were ZAP bolt-ons or some form of friction drive on the rear or front wheel. I would have none of it! No off the shelf controllers, no tried and true plans or sub assembly's. Every thing from scratch, almost including the wheel.

Oh NOOOOOO!

I've seen something similar on youtube and all I could see was a kiddies fingers getting caught between the chain and drive sprocket. Nuts!

I kept thinking of the dancer Isadora Duncan.... got her big long scarf caught in a carriage wheel and was killed! That sprocket and chain looks deadly for anyone's fingers and a loose bit of clothing caught in it would be catastrophic. I know a postman who lost a finger in the fanbelt of his car,,, that bike contraption looks even more dangerous

Hear hear, Mary. Reading off-screen is quite difficult enough without that sort of over-design.

Just an aside to any website designers: I couldn't be bothered to read the article, because text against a patterned background is too much hard work.

I don't think this bloke is too worried what things look like:D
