hi all have vita uno basically a kudos mtb, which has 10.4 ah bottle battery. bought from lebc kudos London sales outlet?

the battery is definatelly on its last legs now range decreasing daily not 2 years old yet.

I am unclear as to what to do. new bottle battery? fit a rear rack battery if capacity is the same but cheaper?
new 13/15 ah woosh frame battery (if it will fit)

a previous post as regards range decreasing and being given a ebay link re battery repairs/recelling has not worked out due to the complicated internals of bottle battery layout etc, was advised to buy new.

is it possible to fit the latter type bottle battery as fitted to kudos typhoon to my uno as I believe they are longer lasting and can be recharged more often.

I have not received a reply from lebc on batteries price ( three times inquired but no reply in past 2 years)

and kudos rally designs I could not get through when I phoned. (my email is not working correctly)

so I am hopping tom/or kudos dave can give me the cost of bottle battery including vat and delivery so I can figure out which way to proceed.

thank you all

thanks soundwave for reply, I did email the link above you gave me in my other post, but unfortunately he replied the bottle batteries were very difficult to repair/recell due to the plastic that encased the cells. and he suggested a new battery.

I have no idea what the cells are that are shown on the ebay site?

Any 36v bottle style will work as long as it can fit in your triangle, you my have to fit an extra riv nut or 2, the new 08 HL battery from Woosh, Eclipse and BMSB measures in mm 361 L X 90 W X 90 H. If you want a similar bottle type Woosh may have some you will have to call them. Chance to upgrade to a bigger battery with more range and either Samsung or Panasonic cells.

Foot pump.....am answering your query at home so cannot be definite on price, but a replacement bottle battery is about £200.
Surprised you cannot get through on the phone,I have 5 guys on telephone sales....01227 792792....Monday to Friday 9.00 to 5.00.
I am surprised that your range is reducing after 2 years, have you checked that the charger is giving full charge,we have had a couple of instances when the charger is shutting down before the battery is full.
The Vita Uno uses the same bottle style battery as all the Kudos mountain style bikes.
To my knowledge there is not a larger bottle style battery to fit into the cradle on the down tube. The battery on the Typhoon is same size/type as fitted to your Vita Uno.
Hope that helps.

soundwave interesting link re bms and rack mounted seem about £129+ but I would pay import tax/vat not sure about delivery costs.
nealh was thinking about woosh 15ah but this £315 with fixing kit , I am not too sure if this will my 46cm frame? but I would like a larger capacity battery less recharging and I assume longer life, I believe the woosh bottle batterys are 9ah mines 10.4

kudos dave I believe charger is ok ,did very flattish miles 4 hours to recharge.
today from full charge about 7 miles leds dropping to2 on modest hill. I was hopping for longer battery life (2 years march 2016)

is that £200 all in vat/delivery and I take it one year warrenty

lebc tom I phoned last week and left a message price please

thank you all

yes will have to pay import duty if outside eu so 20%tax/vat of cost of item plus postage and fee for for importing it.

tho if they put free sample or gift can then not have to pay the 20% import fee.

tho tbh id get 1 from the uk in case of warranty problems as will cost shed loads to send it back.

Foot pump...dropping down to the led 2 is not necessarily an indication of overal range.... My own Kudos Secret has the same display as yours,on a very steep hill and relying a lot on the motor power the display can go down to led 1 ,but it soon recovers to led 3 on the downhill and go on a further 10 miles.
Loss of range can be psychological, these e-bikes can be addictive in terms of power usage.....by that I mean that it is tempting over time to use higher power more often....what suggests that is that your posting seems to wish for a larger capacity battery.
If you make contact with Kudos or LEBC we can give you a definite quote for a new battery but I want you to be sure that your current battery is not giving it's fair range.
Before you buy a new battery, please fully charge your current battery and go for a longish ride using correct power over an average terrain. If you climb mountains on full power with minimal rider input you can flatten a 10 Ah battery over 15 miles,I am sure you appreciate that. Low power on the flat you can get 35 miles.
You need to be honest with yourself, are you using higher power usage than maybe you used when you first had the bike,I don't want you to be disappointed what a new battery will achieve.
Hope that helps.
KudosDave

You can't kill a good battery by riding it until the electrics cut out.
