Since my foray into Pedelecs I have been on the lookout for fellow E-bikers on my travels.
So far I have only seen four and spoken to two, my Son told me a chap at my local Sainsbury’s rides one, I saw him on evening at a roundabout, it was an Urban, looked like he was flat out, that is what made me look, also the lack of lights or any hi-viz or helmet……
I pulled up alongside a Windsor at a level crossing, the rider was minding her own business, I said it was nice to see ‘another one’ when she saw my bike she realised what I was saying, she was a very nice lady in her 60’s, she told me she also had a spare battery in her pannier and goes on 40 mile jolly’s quite often visiting her Grandchildren.

I noticed a conversion outside my local convenience store, as I approached the owner came out and we started chatting, his was an 8-Fun import fitted to a Hybrid bike for his 24 mile round trip commute to work.

A ride to my local hardware store I noticed another Windsor padlocked in the bike ‘racks’ outside the shops , with a huge basket mounted on the front.

I have also noticed how refreshingly social bike riders are, plenty of ‘Good mornings’ ’Good evening’ and nods from fellow cyclists on my pleasure rides and to and from work, only marred I am afraid to say by a minority of what I can only describe after observation as the’ Kamikaze Lycra Brigade’ :D

In my immediate area seen one parked and one being pushed, but never seen one being ridden apart from when I met up with another member locally for a ride. Oddly enough I think it's because the area is too hilly for most to cycle so that puts them off even trying an e-bike.

I've seen a lot of them this year, certainly more about now than 2 years ago.

I have seen a few about my area, mainly on the Swansea Bay cycletrack which is always full of bikes. (people bring them there by car to have a ride) Once saw a bighit parked in Oystermouth, but in total there are no more than about 10 about locally.
Staying at a Belgian campsite last year, a group of British motor homers had about 6 electric folders.
