How hub motors are evolving :)

Thought I'd post a thread started on Endless Sphere, highlighting a DD motor with integrated 5 speed IGH:

BTW, the IGH transmits human power only, so still effectively a DD motor.

Yes. Got excited 'til I realised the hub isn't geared. I'm happy with derailleur plus a decent motor.

An IGH should pair up well with a DD motor to form the basis of an extremely reliable commuter build.

The Bafang BPM-CST is about as good as hub drive gets,also not expensive and very reliable(excepting CWAH)

Yeah clutch is the weakest point on these motor. Maybe if I remain under 1000w it could be ok
