Out playing today and decided to check on the new horses heads being built at Grangemouth.

They'll be 30 metres high and standing each side of the Forth and Clyde canal as it enters the river Forth. It's all part of the Helix

You can cycle from Edinburgh or Glasgow via the Falkirk wheel to these horses heads and only travel 30 feet on the road.

Because the weight of the pontoon coming up is the same as the weight of the one going down, with or without boats, it costs only a few pennies in electricity each time it operates. Sadly you don't take your bike down it, there's a path down from the Union canal to the Forth & Clyde canal.
