Does anybody like a little bet, does anybody know how all the major bookmakers operate,do you think you are getting a fair deal?

There's no such thig as a fair deal when gambling, there will always be a lot more losers than winners. That's how bookies make a killing (living)
You can't watch the tv anymore without multiple adds trying to brainwash folks into thinking gambling is a fun social thing. The reality is most online gamblers do so on there own, giving there money to a machine designed to milk there hard earned wages ( or ours, in the form benifits paied to them out of our taxes)
I don't know the percentages paid out these days but in the 1980's my sister's job was emptying slot machines around the country, most were set to 70%, you put in £100 and get back £70, fair deal ?

I only know enough about betting not to do it.

Whatever way you look at it, gambling only makes sense with OPM.
The BoE does that and called it QE.
The property market is another fair bet.
