I purchased a hopper shopper electric bike 5 years ago and enjoy the riding around the city with the relative ease and speed that my bike was made for until the bike stopped working.
I needed a replacement battery so upgraded from a 24v to a 36v battery, thinking that would solve the problem. Unfortunately, problems arose as the new battery wouldn't fit onto the charging holder easily, when it finally did the key won't move into the ignition setting to power up the electric power panel. Therefore, I've been scouring the Internet looking for solutions and this site seems to over the best advice and support for e-bike uses hence, the reason I've joined this site.

I used to have a well used example of the same bike, labelled as a Viking e-go. The frog battery had bounced around so much it had all but destroyed the battery terminals.

Not all controllers will work with more voltage unless they are a dual voltage model or have 36v rated capacitors. The 24v max voltage is 29.4v, 36v lvc is circa 30 - 32v.

If you have already tried the 36v and made electrical connection possibly you may have smoked the controller. If able to, check the voltage at the controller via the supply input from the battery to see if power is getting to said controller, this will tell you if battery is making contact properly.

I'll try checking the connection and update you asap, thank you
