Nice to be here, what a luck a forum like this exists, may I introduce myself I'm a 60 year old early retired men, living in the mountains of South of Spain, and it is sunny and hot here, so it is hard to bike without assistance, but what a luck, the bicycle technology has evolved towards e-bikes, so I got the chance to stay fit and healthy. Therefore, I bought myself a e-bike 36V 250 Watt, conform to the EC laws from a company here in Cordoba, "electric.es" and burned the 250 watt motor within the first three weeks, finally this is the proof for the to steep hills here for a 250 watt motor.

So I decided to go a different way and upgrade to a 500 watt motor, and bought me a ReaseJoy conversion kit and replaced the whole system with the conversion kit, now I'm able again to climb up the steep hills without problems, just with PAS, but the conversion kit does only have a thumb throttle and PAS system, which I like to replace with a KT-LCD3 LCD panel, finally this is my question now, is it easy to fit the KT-LCD3 to the controller of a ReaseJoy 500 watt controller?

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome to the forum Juergen,
For KT LCD compatibility you will need your controller to also be made by KT (Kunteng) as they have data protocols and different makes aren't all compatible. Ciclotek (Spain) sell kit parts and use KT electronics or take a look at PSWPower.com.

Re your 250w hub burn out are you sure it wasn't the controller that blew as 250w hubs are usually quite robust if a decent branded one.

If your controller has the 5 wire lcd connector and is the same as the Amazon kits then should support one but you will have to find out the maker of your controller as Reasejoy are just a reseller like Ciclotek and others who use rebranded components from China.
Show us a clear pic of the controller label also look inside it to see if there is a name but suspect your one will be a no name unbranded model. Your best bet for a lcd is to get one from where you got the kit from to be sure of compatibility.

Hi Neal, Yep, I'm quite sure the motor has been burned, cause after it ceased to work, I checked everything and replaced finally he controller YK227-2LS, but no joy, the motor still won't run anymore, therefore I ordered the conversion kit to replace the complete electric system, and found at the same time the KT-LCD3 panel and would like to have this feature, all the possibilities of an good 500 watt hub motor, I'm not into speed, but into torque.

Hope some people have had similar experiences with this 250 watt motors, well, in the UK, there are not that steep hills, so a 250 watt motor will not burn ...

Are you sure, well then, can you name me a dealer or shop where I can buy me a Kuteng motor controller for a 500 watt DC hub motor with hall sensors.

I named two sellers in #2.
Also Panda ebikes UK or BMS Battery (China) sell them under the S series name.

The UK isn't flat but good 250w hubs have no problem with steep hills, if they are from a proven manufacturer. Some 250w hubs are better then others even from the same manufacturer.

Hope some people have had similar experiences with this 250 watt motors, well, in the UK, there are not that steep hills, so a 250 watt motor will not burn ...

You could buy a KT lcd to try and then see if it works or not, more then likely not. Then you would have to buy a KT controller which may cost more if bought separately and then a 2nd delivery charge.
