Hi all

Just wanted to introduce myself. Im Tom from SE London. Been exhaustively researching DIY electric bikes and I think will soon be taking the plunge in purchasing my first set up. I am a keen cyclist who rides a round trip commute of around 12-15 miles in all weather! However, looking to add some (extra) fun to the trip and also to help my legs when finishing a bar shift at 4am in the morning!

Anyway, I will be posting some questions in a minute in the relevant place.

Thanks!

Welcome. Unless you have a good flack jacket, you can ask any questions you want as long as you don't use the following words, which tend to get some members a bit too excited:

Helmet, legal, throttle, dongle and nincompoop.

Welcome Handbaked ,
As above can i suggest the following question.
" I am looking for a crank drive bike ( as I have heard that they are soooooooooo much better than hub drives ) capable of going up a steep hill at 30mph on throttle only whilst wearing cargo shorts and flip flops and a lycra team sky top. Perhaps adding that you wear a helmet only for up hills and you have already printed a nice label stating 250w but you need to know if blue tak will hold it onto the motor during 60 mph blasts as the bigger chain ring that Martin gave you all the advice about not to mention the discount he gave you as you bought the bike from the fatherland , combined with the dongle has put only one small doubt in your mind that the forum can help with. Should I stay with my rim brakes or upgrade to discs?
Lol
