Hello, I am from Melton Mowbray in leicestershire. I have converted a twenty year old falcon into an electric bike using the Izip kit and the my1018 brushed motor. The kit came with a SLA battery which was ok but not great on range or power, loads of volt sag. I then purchased a LIFEPO4 battery directly from Li ping in china after reading what great batteries he produces and the quality of his service. I have to say the difference is amazing. Much greater range and little volt sag which mean more noticable power.
I use the bike all the time for commuting, shopping and all my general running about. I seem to rarely use the car these days. I enjoy riding it, and smile as I pass the ques of frustrated car dirvers at a standstill.
When my partener tried my bike she was so impressed she made me build her one to. Hers is also an old falcon. She loves going up hill passed the struggeling postman with a cheerful easy not out of breath "good morning". Theses bikes are vertually silent and being built from old bikes do not look like electric bikes until you get close to one.
I have been riding mine for a year now and it fantastic. I have made the bike into more of a situp bike by getting a long headstock stem, and of course a nice comfortable seat.
