I don't trust that any phone holder is shock or waterproof etc. 7" cheap tablet of disposable price is connected via Wifi Hotspot to my phone, and only online when downloaded offline maps (Sygic/other apps) are useless.

that kiox display is held in with magnets but if i dont screw it in place it will fly off and every bolt on my bike has Loctite on them and check them all cos if i dont it will fall to bits :p

seems i need one of these if it will fit what i have.

You could superglue + baking soda some pencils lengthways under the quadlock case to stiffen it up, stop that happening to your next phone? (If superglue doesn't dissolve the plastic - test a very small area first)

the phone is locked on solid it is just the vibration from the handle bars that has cracked it tho saying that these bars are 9 years old now and dont want them to snap in half lol.

I use a basic cheapo mount like this but larger (with extra zipties to hold it on, just in case)

...and a cheapo 7" Lenovo tablet from Cex, which in addition goes into a clear food bag when it rains.

The only good features of the cheapo mount (it's not waterproof for hours in rain): there are two layers of 1cm sponge padding underneath the phone/tablet - if you remove one, there's a space large enough to squeeze in a small slim power bank.

Is it possible to solder in a cheapo voltage display? I think this battery is a Bosch. Mind you, Bosch knackerware might become aware of the need to knacker...

id not pi$s about with those bms as the batt wont even turn on if it dont see the controller in the motor plus you will snap some clips getting it off.

the kiox goes down in 1% from 100 so way better than 5 bars.

Some laptop BMSs are a pain: I have an unused rare laptop battery, which was missold to me on ebay - I would love to take the battery packs out to replace the ones in a almost dead battery of the same size and spec, but slightly different port - however, Sony's BMS needs programming using two USB leads and two hard to obtain programs, and the wires have to be cut in the right sequence, otherwise the BMS of the old battery will disable itself. The good news is that the unused battery (which I got a refund for) is now so rare, they're selling for £114 (but mine is a Sony original, not a "compatible", therefore I can likely sell it for a higher price):

...and I have a new higher capacity new battery for that laptop anyway. While it lasts.

Did a longer ride with the D21 today. It was quite windy, so noticed a big improvement over the regular bike :)
Two notes:
* When stopping at a light or junction, I need to remember to change the pedal assist back to 1, otherwise when starting to pedal there's a bit too much power, as my muscle memory is making me pedal too hard and the torque sensor picks it up. On the other hand, if I have to stop quickly and didn't have time to reduce the gear back to 1, it's fine, the gear doesn't really matter when the motor kicks in :)
* I keep switching from kph to mph by mistake when I want to switch from pedal assist 1 to 3, need to click slowly to avoid it

Also, adjusting the saddle a bit further back relative to the seat post than what I had in the Tern improved the riding

So it got stolen... :( Waiting for the insurance to pay and will get a new bike. Is there anything else on the market now I should consider instead of the D21?

Sorry to hear your Fiido got stolen. I'm compelled to ask for details: Which lock(s) did you use, where did you leave your bike and for how long, did they get the battery seatpost too, which insurer are you with, how much did the insurance cost, will they pay out, how long till they pay out?
