the frame has a Dahon sticker
You're partway there! ;)

The Fiidos do seem to have a lot of fans - I'd be interested to read about how you get on over some years. I probably would have bought a Fiido, if they were available to buy in the UK at the time.

Only annoying thing of the bike is that it doesn't have the standard bottle cage screws in the frame that you can use for lock holder

AFAIK all UK versions are supplied with the brakes fitted the right way around. Is your shop an official supplier (they're not listed), or selling grey imports?

Fiido do now make a rear carrier especially for the D21/D11 which can be ordered from their website.

For a short while Fiido supplied a free Bluetooth enabled alarm/tracker bike lock; that had a bracket to mount it to the stem (as some other locks do too). It's usually the stems that have a "Dahon" label.

Your D21 is a cheaper bike than the others you tried (Estarli etc). How do you feel it compares in terms of both ride quality and value?

I meant this:

50641

Not a big deal though, I can attach it to the head tube

They say "Electrochains UK is an authorised dealer of every brand that we carry." on https://electrochains.co.uk/pages/about-us. I emailed them asking about the switched brakes, and they just said "Yes all the bikes sold are UK import models." :/ I'll go and find some youtube videos and hopefully will be able to swap them without making a mess :)

Yeah, saw that, $64 with shipping

It's definitely a nicer ride than the Estarli E20. The riding position on my Verge P10 feels a little bit better, but the Fiido is still fine. The pedal assist feels quite smooth, no unexpected kicks, though I still haven't done a longer ride with proper hills yet.

I do wish it had those magnetic bits on the wheels to keep them together while folded. Anyone found something that works from ebay or amazon or somewhere else?

I also miss that typical triangle on the frame that the Terns, Dahons and even the Estarli have, would make it a bit easier to carry

It used to be the Americans complaining that the early D bikes were set-up wrongly (in their eyes) with the front brake being on the right and not the left as they are used to.

The X has frame magnets fitted; the issue is the D frame isn't threaded for them. I just use a bungee cord which keeps the stem/handlebar held in too.

Good to hear your positive first impressions given your expectations were set fairly high to start with (i.e. Tern standards).

I ended up selling the Tern Link D7i on gumtree
Best got rid of, I approve wholeheartedly.

Yes, we know about Tern and Fiido broken frames, you don't need to keep reposting it :)
...and at least one handlebar, which resulted in broken ribs:

Aww, come off it @guerney. A quick Google search shows plenty of Dahon bikes snapping in half too. There's a couple of interesting articles too discussing/showing where stress points of a bike frame are, and all folding bikes are (can be) especially prone to failure for obvious reasons.

I wonder if 7075 Aluminium "Nanotechnology-Enabled" Welded frames will crack less often than carbon fiber? No sign of such frames being available yet:

Looks like a very small supported area, and only in the middle - cracked due to rapid and repeated bending, as you were bouncing along?
