Sorry about my pic, it was for another forum.

I'm about to buy an ebike, and it's probably a Cube Khatmandu Hybrid Pro 500 (2018) from 50Cycles. Please let me know if that's a mistake.

I have test ridden 3 ebikes so far, the one above, a GTECH (£995) and a Volt Pulse ZR2 (£800).

Will test the new Volt Pulse next week (£1500)

The Cube I really tested, up Richmond Hill and round Richmond Park clockwise - which has the steepest section. The bike was pretty awesome.

The other 2 I rode over 3 different bridges of various inclines in Twickenham and Richmond. Any of these bridges would normally cause aching in the old hips.

Hills destroy me, slight inclines make me ache, so I was worried when people said that on hills you need to put in some effort. I've found I have to put in no extra effort to sail over any bridge or up any hill. I just had to drop a gear or 3 and the bike did the rest. I was spinning the old legs around with near zero resistance. Imagine a gym bike in first gear.

With the GTECH I simply peddled even less when I had to go over the bridges, and the motor kicked in and carried me upwards.

I'd be interested to test the GTECH around Richmond Park to see if the single speed can handle it. I suspect it could have issues without low gearing and I wouldn't want to strain myself.. It was the lightest bike by far, so good if you have to carry it up and down stairs and lived somewhere flattish.

BTW Cycle Republic have got 10% off codes online at the moment. No, I don't work for them or Halfords.

Hi Kizza, welcome to the forum. Yeah, Cube Khatmandu... go for it.
Um... Kizza welcomes Kizza... ? Someone slipping up? Dual identity perhaps? But who would do such a thing? And why?

Oh - understood. It's not my thing to comment on other forum traders or to recommend any bike to you without a test ride. I'm guessing you've taken your test rides and are happy with your choice - that's always best.

Hi Kizza, I have the Cube Khatmandu Pro too, as a replacement for my Scott eSub which was written off earlier this year. Still rebuilding my confidence out on the road, but loving the bike. Let us know which you decide on.

Hi. Yes I'm buying the Cube tomorrow. I also test rode a Scott E 20 something today. It looked amazing and was a nice ride, but when I got back on the Cube Katmandu it was different gravy; fast, powerful, responsive. Looking forward to it.

I have had a Cube Cross Hybrid Pro 500 since June and couldn't be happier with it.

I have a 2017 Cube Cross Hybrid Pro, which is basically the exact same bike, but without integrated rack. I absolutely love it! I'm sure you will be happy with it

Good to hear. Got mine today, and I've just cycled 20 miles up and down every steep hill I could find. It eats them up.

I forgot to ask the shop about battery charging, can you please advise?

How long to recharge? How low should I run battery down before recharging?

And anything else worth knowing.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/blog/post/how-to-look-after-and-extend-the-life-of-your-bosch-ebike-battery/

I think the most important thing is temperature as the Battery Management System takes care of everything else.

Enjoy your bike

Matt
