Sorry about my pic, it was for another forum.
I'm about to buy an ebike, and it's probably a Cube Khatmandu Hybrid Pro 500 (2018) from 50Cycles. Please let me know if that's a mistake.
I have test ridden 3 ebikes so far, the one above, a GTECH (£995) and a Volt Pulse ZR2 (£800).
Will test the new Volt Pulse next week (£1500)
The Cube I really tested, up Richmond Hill and round Richmond Park clockwise - which has the steepest section. The bike was pretty awesome.
The other 2 I rode over 3 different bridges of various inclines in Twickenham and Richmond. Any of these bridges would normally cause aching in the old hips.
Hills destroy me, slight inclines make me ache, so I was worried when people said that on hills you need to put in some effort. I've found I have to put in no extra effort to sail over any bridge or up any hill. I just had to drop a gear or 3 and the bike did the rest. I was spinning the old legs around with near zero resistance. Imagine a gym bike in first gear.
With the GTECH I simply peddled even less when I had to go over the bridges, and the motor kicked in and carried me upwards.
I'd be interested to test the GTECH around Richmond Park to see if the single speed can handle it. I suspect it could have issues without low gearing and I wouldn't want to strain myself.. It was the lightest bike by far, so good if you have to carry it up and down stairs and lived somewhere flattish.
BTW Cycle Republic have got 10% off codes online at the moment. No, I don't work for them or Halfords.
