I work for a charity, raising funds by servicing and selling donated bikes. I have recently gained access to more than 10 what I believe to be out-of-date e-bikes - stored as new and in-used. I would appreciate any views on their merit/ value if any. The list (cryptically) is :

Bertsbike Freerider 20” 6spd

Poviabike 24” 6spd

Freerider Easy Tandem 26” 6spd Li-ion battery

Black bike? 700c 7spd

IZIP CB26 26” 7spd

Freerider e-freedom 24” 6spd

Freerider City Bike 26” Nexus 3spd

Achiever Urban 20” 6spd

Refesx 09 SOCITT 26”/ Respels 0.9 SERIJD 26” 8spd

Urbanmover Uglider UM36X 26” 6spd

Freerider E-K2 26” 7spd

The generic answer is the batteries are critical. If they have been left alone uncharged they are probably shot. Replacement batteries cost quite a bit.
That makes the bikes spares, repair and kills the value. With time you could get batteries and tart them up but I'm a misery guts as far as you are concerned.
Sorry.

Thanks Dave - I suspected as much, plus the chance of sourcing a battery must be very poor. A colleague suggested a quick look at converting the batteries to newer models (hence changing the housing). Not optimistic this can be done easily and elegantly.

If they use SLA batteries then replacement to get them working may not be to costly to make them viable to resell but if they are Lithium celled packs then it won't be cheap, one option is to recell the cases using Insat intl the guys in the link below. However as a charitable cause the expense may be against the charities cause/ ethics otherwise as mentioned they are spares and repairs buys which may raise up to £100 a bike. There will be some one with an older or similar branded bike out there who would be interested in the hub or electrics or other parts as spares etc, obviously the best solution for this is ebay.

Put them on Ebay as they are. You'll get what they're worth for them like that.

Ah do any have a bifang, or 8fun mid drive system. Mine has just died after 1060 miles, I need a spare controller and or display to fix the problem ( error30)

Thanks Nealh - I'll check out the Insat guys to see if costs prohibitive. I'm charging all the batteries at present. One only gets to 20% but another has fully charged - both bikes work fine, but obviously the 20-percenter will not last. D8ve, bifang and 8fun are beyond me - I'll do some quick research and get back to you.
