Hello,

I picked up my Carrera Crossfire-E last Friday day and absolutely love it. I did around 50k over the weekend (Hate it's not in MPH) and even took it out when it was really windy which I wouldn't have done with my Dahon I previously had.

The wife bought a Gtec due to the simplicity of it i.e. not having to change gears.

The offer on at Halfords for the crossfire made my mind up and the fact I think the colour scheme and the overall look of the bike appeals to me.

Both bikes fit our needs perfectly :)

Welcome.
We would like an unbiased comparison when you have had both for a while please.

I'll look out for you on the road. My wife and I have the carerra's as does a chap from work. So that's at least four of us in the Fylde. We are going to try the cafe at the top of Beacon Fell next. See how the bike copes with that Hill.

OK so we have had these bikes for a short while now and just lately traveled from Warton to Blackpool tower on two different dates.

The 27/08/16 The Gtech's battery was fully charged and my Carrera was at 89%. A great ride to the tower with a slight breeze stop for fish and chips as you do and headed back (It's a 20-mile round trip) around one mile from home the Gtech's battery dies and the wife has to peddle the last mile with no assistance. My Carrera as 49% left.

02/09/16 We set off on the same journey to watch the light getting turned on at the tower, this is exactly the same distance and both bikes batteries have been fully charged. On the way back with 9 miles to go the Gtech's battery dies :( I then swap bikes with the wife and peddle the 9 miles with no assitance on the Gtech. (it was like cycling in treacle) on getting home the Carrera had 40% battery power left, there was a bit of a head wind going but 11 miles range is very poor.

This morning I have sent Gtech customer service an email explaining the battery issues and await their response.

A good result from Gtech, they sent us a new battery and asked us to dispose of the other battery. it is now a spare :)
