Hi everyone, looks like a great site, exactly what I've been looking for!
I'm 48 and hadn't ridden a pushbike for more than 10 years until last April when my wife and I went mad and bought a gorgeous hybrid bicycle each under the Cycle to Work scheme. Since then I've become a cyclaholic, riding the 15 mile round trip to work most days. A large chunk of the journey is along narrow country lanes with whole stretches full of potholes but it's made me much fitter and I love it, even in the worst weather! NOW THEN......., dark evenings are back and my enthusiasm's starting to wain, so I've decided the time's come to buy an electric bicycle. I've driven myself mad comparing all the different types, brands and price ranges but there seems to be only one with my name on it; a KUDOS SPORT, not least because of the 20" frame version which i'll need as I'm 6'1" tall. I think I'll own one soon BUT has anyone got an opinion on this bike? It's at the top end of my budget but, to spend less would mean a 17" frame and a bike with insufficient range. AM I RIGHT? I'd be grateful for any response.Cheers. Pete.

Hi Pete, welcome to the fold. I rode a Kudos Sport on a lengthy test ride with Dave the boss of Kudos. We swapped bikes halfway and the other was a City. I liked the higher seating position of the City and when we got back I was also able to take the Tourer round the car park. That's what I ended up with and I'm delighted. You won't be disappointed with the Sports as long as it's the right size for you. My range is three return trips to work around 5 miles each way. I'm pleased with that.

Thanks Brian. I believe the Sport comes with an 18" and 20" frame size. I'm 6'1" tall and I'm hoping that means the 20" one will be the right size for me. I don't like the idea of buying without trying first but I think I'm going to have to take the risk because I don't know of any local Kudos dealers. Thanks for your information, I'll checkout the other 2 models.

I don't know about the Sport but I've got the Tourer. I'm 6' and it fits me well with the seat near its lowest setting. My son is 6'2" and when he went on it for a quick shot it didn't look too small for him.
BTW it's the best thing I've bought in a long time. I'm fitter now than when I bought it. I must be eating more though because I'm not any slimmer. ;)
You could contact Kudos and ask them to compare the frame size between the Tourer and the Sport. They are quite good at answering questions. The tourer has bigger wheels than the sport.

Odd you should mention that Jimod, I feel a lot fitter but I haven't lost any appreciable weight. It must be all that new muscle which weighs more :)

I've just been dealt a hammer-blow; The KUDOS SPORT doesn't come in a 20" frame, and, to their credit, everyone at KUDOS has told me it's not big enough for. They all speak from experience, having ridden the different models themselves, so I will be guided by them. Very frustrating though!! I might have to go for the TOURER instead. More research to follow!!!

Kudos sport

I just bought one of these bikes and it just flies up a 10% gradient. The steering is quite heavy what with the motor at the front but you soon get used to that.
I reckon that the sport is a bargain, as it comes with lights too. I have a halfords urban mover as well, which is a good bike in itself, but the extra gears on the sport make it a better bike. I like the idea of having a 2 wheel drive cycle!
I have yet to test the battery to its full potential, so watch this space folks.

I'm 6'3" and have the Kudos King. Only has a 19" frame, but I find with the saddle raised it's fine. See my other threads for pictures.
