Here's an idea for the Europhobic

Long ago the UK was late to the internet party and the Ukraine got in first by grabbing the xxxx.uk domain, leaving us with the clumsy xxxx.co.uk.

Now I notice the Ukraine's citizens are demonstrating to obtain EU membership, just at a time when so many UK residents want to be out of the EU.

So why don't we just swap country names? The former Ukraine now known as the UK would have the EU membership they so desperately want, plus cocking a snook at Russia, while we now as the Ukraine would be right out of Europe and get the desirable xxxx.UK domain.

UKIP could pretend their name meant Ukraine Independence party all along! ;)

It's a good idea but sadly it won't work. Whilst most of them can speak English, very few of us can speak Ukrainian. ;)

Oh well, we must (not) swap languages too then!
If a Scotsman meets a Ukrainian or Russian woman and asks her, "does your **** fit you" in a broad Scots accent, she hears him saying something like "hello how are you" in Russian. Just so you know, I've actually tried it on both. The Russian woman responded back in Russian as she thought I'd understand her. At the table when I said it were: Her, me, my son and her German boyfriend. My son laughed, she answered in Russian and her boyfriend just heard me make a sound with no idea what I'd said.
Sometimes speaking with a broad accent is a good thing. :)

The word which has been censored out isn't a swear word, it's a term for your bottom.

in this country we have .uk
We cannot have .uk alone, that's the problem. I'm not a co., I'm not an org., I'm not a gov., but I am a UK citizen. So I just want .uk without the unnecessary nonsense.

Other countries around the world mostly have available a single part appendix of two or sometimes three characters.

Yes, I'd just noticed that Garry, not before time. I've got flecc.co.uk but really wanted flecc.uk. I was tempted by the brief .eu at the time and would have adopted that, but with the possibility of the Europhobics getting us out, I could have been left with a meaningless domain.
