Hi everyone! does someone want to help me? I have a voilamart 250/1000 watt ebike kit 26 inch rear wheel with a sw900 LCD controller. 48 volt battery.

I'm in the UK could someone please let me know what the correct settings would be on the settings mode on the screen so it falls into the current UK law. I'm running the kit no throttle just the pas with 8 magnets thank you.

The kit can never comply with UK law, the hub is rated for 1000w . The so called 250w rating is a red herring to try and diguise the fact and trying to circumnavigate the law.
Sadly these kits dupe the buyer and the companies selling them know this but turn a blind eye to the law.

Unless the manufacturer has marked the hub as 250w then it is illegal.
A switch to change power mode from 250w to 1000w and vice versa is not allowed.

As said above you have fallen foul of a dodgy ad campaign returning the bike for a full refund would be the best solution so you can buy a conformant bike. If you paid by CC and its a fraudulant ad you might have some protection that way??

Ebay will sell you a 250w sticker to place over your 1000w motor rating etching, but thats not a guarantee against seizure.

To conform with the regs you will need to replace the motor with one etched and rated 250w, as well as applying the 25km/h speed limit. ( circa £150+)? Depending on any f/w lock outs you may also need to consider a new control system and display too? (upto £100) so you could be looking at circa £250 to replace motor and control system to bring your bike into line with the regs.

If the motor has 1000w written on it, you're out, so you have to get a motor with 250w written on it. If it has 250w or lower written on it, all you have to do is set the max speed to 15.5 mph and remove the throttle.
